Historic Fencing Class West Linn Oregon Parks and Rec class Number 7061.301 Athey Creek Gym From. 5:00-6:00 PM Historical fencing (Highland Hungarian Broadsword), for beginners ages ten through adult with an emphasis on individuals with PDDNOS, Aspergers, ADD and ADHD. The class will focus on basic techniques, grips, stances and movements as well as discuss the history and traditions of historical fencing. The class will be taught by a Master fencer that has over 15 years experience in the art of fencing along with 18 years experience working in special education. Through fencing , students and individuals with special needs will greatly improve coordination, dexterity, gross and fine motor skills and gain spatial awareness, as well as boost self esteem and make some friends and have some fun! Our Highland Broadsword starts with the works of Angelo and Page, with additional study of McBane and Silver. We emphasize accuracy and control, good form, good footwork, off-line movements, and good blocking and evasion techniques.




West Linn Parks and recreation registration number 7060.301 Koushaku Do Karate, traditional karate for beginners ages six through adult with an emphasis on individuals with PDDNOS, Aspergers, ADD and ADHD. The class will focus on the history and traditions of the art of Karate. The class will be offered by a master instructor and formal national and international champion with over 38 years of experience and over 18 years of working in special education. The class is geared for the individual learner that moves at their own pace. We will be learning how karate can improve self confidence, movement, balance, coordination as well as direction following through calm precise instruction by learning the art of centering. Athey Creek Gym West Linn Oregon Thursday nights 5:00 to 6:00 PM Koushaku Do Karate has an emphasis on learning effective striking & blocking. Essential skills such as movement, timing, hand-eye coordination, balance, & overall physical fitness are also emphasized.

We also teach bo/quarterstaff & jo/walking stick techniques.

We also occasionally host seminars by visiting experts.
